He had many hits, including 'Johnny Remember Me' and 'Wild Wind', but he also
starred in films such as 'The Great Escape' and 'Von Ryans Express' John told us many fascinating stories about working with people like Joe Meek and Frank Sinatra. He also told of an amusing incident when he shared a golf buggy with Elvis. It was besieged by fans asking for John's autograph, and none of them recognised Elvis !!
